Strawberries Strawberries are known for their high nutritional value and medicinal properties. Just eight strawberries daily provides more than 20% of the daily recommended folate intake for expectant mothers, and more vitamin C than an orange. They are also high in folic acid Folate is a water soluble B vitamin which helps prevent birth defects such as spina bifida in newborn babies.
Bananas Bananas are very low in Saturated Fat, Cholesterol and Sodium. It is also a good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin C, Potassium and Manganese, and a very good source of Vitamin B6. Because of their impressive potassium content, bananas are highly recommended by doctors for patients whose potassium is low. One large banana, about 9 inches in length, packs 602 mg of potassium and only carries 140 calories.
Apples Apples are a good source of vitamins A and B1 and rich in a number of minerals. It is a good idea to eat apples with their skin. Almost half of the vitamin C content is just underneath the skin. Eating the skin also increases insoluble fiber content.
